The everlasting peace in this village is sustained by your hopes.
And then suddenly, a thicket of flowering peach trees appeared in front of his eyes. It stretched for a length of several hundred paces on either side of the river and there was not a single tree other than peach in its midst. The fragrant blossoms bloomed in their full glory and petals fluttered and danced in the breeze. He continued deeper, seeking to see how far the thicket extended. And there, where it ended, was the river's source, and above it a mountain. In the mountainside was a small cave, within which he thought he could see a faint light. So he left his boat and entered the mouth of the cave. It was extremely narrow at first, barely wide enough for one person to pass. After several dozen paces it suddenly grew light and he saw that the space had opened up, giving way to flat ground. Flowers were blooming everywhere and the sound of birdsong filled the air. Both the men and the women he saw were all dressed in clothing entirely unlike anything worn by people in the ordinary world. Everyone - old people with their hair gone white and small children alike - looked carefree and happy, enjoying themselves most leisurely.
